Los Altos Weather

Our June weather in Los Altos, California, was normal — warm and dry. Our daytime temperature rose from our chilly May, and our overnight temperatures stayed above normal, as usual.

Groundwater Pumping Drops

California’s governor announced mandatory reductions in urban water usage, and these reductions are beginning to take effect. Our first water bill with the mandatory cutback will be in July. In the meanwhile, local groundwater pumping dropped in June, as our temperatures increased. From the graph below, our groundwater pumping the past 1.5 years had been higher than average, so this is good news. In our neighborhood, most front lawns are more brown than green.
