Young Hawk Returns — Mobbed Again

Earlier in the week, we saw a juvenile red-tailed hawk mobbed by crows. Two days later, my wife saw a hawk sitting in the same redwood tree. The hawk sat quietly at first.

But then a crow started diving at the perched hawk. The hawk soon tired of being a target. Click on any photo to see it larger.

The hawk circled. The setting sun lit the hawk’s eye and leading edge of its wings.

As usual, crows mobbed the hawk and chased it away.

We scan treetops more often now. Never know what you can discover across the street.
